Founder & Executive Director: Ms. Denise Adams
My name is Denise Adams. I am the mother of (3) adult children. I have (2) daughters, Dr. P. Clinton & A. Clinton, and (1) son, S. Clinton, and one grandson, Aidan.
I was born and raised in Ford Heights, Illinois which is a small town outside of Chicago. I am the eldest daughter of fifteen and I have a host of step brothers and sisters. At a very young age I cared for my siblings in the preparation of meals, doing their laundry, assisting with homework, laying out their attire, and mentoring and instructing them in their day-to-day functions. It was a blessing in disguise, because that practice was apart of the process for me becoming the woman I am today. To this day, I am a caregiver to those I have know over a period of time as well as those I encounter daily through advising on life matters.
During my teenage years I was exceling in high school, but I never considered life after that. If I would have known or had a mentor to guide me I may have went to college immediately following high school. Did my family have the funds to pay for college? Probably not, but my mentor would have aided me in finding scholarships, grants and other resources because we would have communicated regularly throughout those pertinent years. I was very shy at that stage in my life. This behavior continued until I had a daughter at the age of 19, then I knew I wanted better for her life, so I had to speak up and speak out.
My past experiences has contributed to my future successes. I went to college where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Management, a Masters in Business Administration and I will complete my Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Psychology in 2014. I recently developed and published a manual titled, "If I Had Only Known the Consequences". Also, I have over 15 years of work experience from being a substitute teacher, training and development specialist to an online professor. My education played a major role in dictating the path my life has taken, however Education is the key, but the knowledge earned gives the power!
